About The Learning Coach

Hi, my name's Nathan and I blog as the learning coach. I am a qualified Primary School Teacher from Yorkshire, having completed my teacher training in 2017 with a specialism in Special Educational Needs (SEND). Since then, my career has been quite a journey as I've built up more experience and developed my practice further which has resulted in me working in a variety of support and teaching roles across West Yorkshire. Right now, I work to support teenagers in an Alternative Provision setting. My students find school really hard at times due to previous negative experiences and special educational needs including social, emotional and mental health needs.

I love supporting others, teachers included, and take pride in my students with every big and small step that they take. I celebrate with them when they smash their goals and listen to them when they're completely overwhelmed. Having worked mainly on supply or within SEND, I feel like there's not actually much practical information out there that is relevant to UK-based educators. That's why The Learning Coach was created, to provide information, support and tips about supply and SEND that all teachers, support staff and home educators will (hopefully) be able to access and find helpful.

I also love connecting with others - you can find me on social media below
